Fresno Sheriff Memorial Foundation – Micro-Metal
The design incorporated multiple layers, colors, and surface textures to interpret geographic features, significantly increasing the complexity of the installation.
Unlike typical Micro Metal applications that rely on a base material and a secondary color, this installation required three distinct color layers with overlapping stencils. Each transition was carefully feathered and blended to represent elevation changes across a detailed map design. Achieving soft, blended edges while working with stencil boundaries required precise hand finishing to avoid burning through the Micro Metal surface.
The process demanded a high level of focus, craftsmanship, and technical control from start to finish. The completed map and surrounding thresholds were fully cured, dried, and sealed in time for unveiling, resulting in a visually striking installation that highlights the versatility and detail achievable with the Bomanite Micro Metal system.
